Vicon adds 2.0 megapixel cameras with H.264 compression to its I-ONYX line
25 August 2010
Vicon introduces the MP980 series of I-ONYX fixed network cameras. These day/night 2.0 megapixel cameras are offered in three models: indoor dome, outdoor dome and box form. All models support H.264 compression technology, as well as offering MPEG-4 and M-JPEG compatibility. Users can receive multiple streams simultaneously in different resolutions, frame rates and image qualities for viewing on different platforms.
A removable IR-cut filter and autoiris control allows the cameras to deliver clear images 24 hours a day at lighting levels as low a 0.03 Lux (@20 IRE). Power over Ethernet eliminates the need for power cables and makes installation easy and cost-effective. The cameras offer seamless integration with the ViconNet video management system and conform to the ONVIF global standard, making them compatible with other network video products.

Vicon introduces Virtual Matrix Display Controller for command center matrix displays
25 August 2010
At the SecuTech Vietnam show, Chemco, together with Vicon, launches the Virtual Matrix Display Controller (VMDC), a powerful new matrix control solution for the ViconNet® Video Management system designed to provide a user with the ability to direct network video to multiple high-definition monitor displays. Both live and recorded HD video may be displayed on the monitors by the VMDC.
The VMDC decodes JPEG4, MPEG4 and H.264 video for display on 16:9 and 4:3 high definition monitors. A single VMDC unit supports up to 6 high-definition monitors displaying multiple video streams, with each monitor offering a variety of camera display configurations. Control of additional monitors is as easy as connecting additional units to the network providing a scalable, cost-effective management solution. Typically, a VMDC would be installed in the command/control center for the video management system and provide both local control of monitors in the center and remote control of monitors located elsewhere in the facility, including monitor wall displays.

Vicon Introduces More Powerful, H.264-Ready Kollector Network DVRs
11 May 2010
Chemco, during its Vicon seminar in Singapore and Malaysia on 11 & 13 May 2010 respectively, introduces a new generation of its popular Vicon Kollector DVRs
The two new models, named Kollector Strike and Kollector Force, offer faster and more powerful video processing in a smaller chassis than previous Kollector models, and do so at a significantly lower price. In addition, both models offer network connectivity, supporting local and remote IP and megapixel cameras as part of an open platform ViconNet video management system. They support 480 frames-per-second across 16 channels of video and are H.264-ready.
The Kollector Strike stands a compact, 1 rack unit high; the Kollector Force measures 3 rack units high. The larger, Kollector Force includes an analog video matrix with 4 local inputs to 4 local outputs as well as 16 analog video looping outputs. Both models are offered with internal storage configurations of up to 4 TB. External storage of up to 36 TB is available.
