Vicon's Improved & New Roughneck Corner-Mount Cameras

Vicon recently releases an improved version of its popular Roughneck V894CSH corner-mount high-security cameras with a high-performance camera module, which offers 560 TVL lines of resolution, digital noise reduction, privacy masking, and highlight mask exposure, within its rugged stainless-steel enclosure with polycarbonate plastic window.
Vicon also announces a new addition to its Roughneck family, high-security corner-mount V15CCM-IR-2 camera series. The cameras are designed for use in prison cells, with IR illumination and 2.5mm wide angle lens, and are available in IP and analog versions.

Vicon Introduces Surveyor HD PTZ Dome

Vicon announces the expansion of its line of high-performance PTZ camera domes to include the Surveyor HD, a 1.3 megapixel model. The new Surveyor HD combines a powerful day/night megapixel camera, equipped with 18x optical zoom, in Vicon’s proven Surveyor dome system. Available in indoor, outdoor, pressurized and maximum-security models, the camera offers 4x the resolution of standard definition cameras with the benefits of 360° continuous rotation, a wide range of programmable features, including privacy masking, and exceptional zoom, focus, pan and tilt speeds, and preset accuracy. The camera’s ONVIF open architecture allows for integration with a wide range of video management solutions.
The Surveyor HD provides a choice H.264, MPEG-4 and M-JPEG encoding options to maximize both recording quality and storage efficiency. Its 4.7-84.6 mm varifocal lens provides superb sharpness and excellent sensitivity. The camera’s digital noise reduction minimizes video interference and triggering of false alarms while Wide Dynamic Range provides excellent contrast in difficult light conditions.

Vicon Releases ViconNet Version 6 Video Management Software with Web Browser and Other New Features

Vicon releases ViconNet Version 6, the latest version of its open-platform video management software. ViconNet V6 offers full support for H.264 encoding and is compatible with a wide range third-party network and megapixel cameras. Its support of ONVIF standards provides users with many options for integration with consumer off-the-shelf (COTS) network video and computer hardware.
A new web browser interface allows users of ViconNet V6 to view live and recorded video from any PC, without the use of special software or plug-ins. Other additions with Version 6 include a unique “Video Vault” feature that allows for more efficient use of long-term storage and an “Archive Wizard” that makes it easy to create authenticated archives that play back on any PC using the embedded player. ViconNet V6 is available as a software-only solution or may be ordered pre-loaded onto NVRs, Workstations or hybrid DVRs.
